We are the Beartones, Missouri State University’s all male-identifying a cappella group.

 

Though the majors or our fifteen (awesome) members span from Graphic Design to Cell and Molecular Biology, we are united by a passion for music. And it doesn’t matter what genre of music. Over the years, we’ve sung a variety of complex arrangements in multiple styles, from pop-rock to indie-electronic to soul!

 

But we can’t define the Beartones by discussing only our music. What makes our group special is our culture of encouragement, authenticity, and friendship. Members share a genuine bond that brings our music to the next level. By encouraging making mistakes, we create a family of singers who can grow together without fear of judgement.

 

The Beartones have traveled across the country throughout the group’s life—performing in our hometown, Springfield, Missouri, but also St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, and New York! We compete every year in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). Our dedication and teamwork have earned us first place during many qualifying rounds as well as numerous accolades, such as “Best Male Soloist,” “Best Choreography,” and more. 

 

While ICCA is our biggest annual event, we also sing at many charity fundraisers, parties, and other local events across southwest Missouri throughout the year, and we want to share our music with you.
